Anyone know where I can find Remington actions for sale?
I have surfed the net high and low and am unable to find an online seller of the Remington action.
I am in need of a 700 Magnum stainless steel with a boltface of atleast a 300 weatherby mag.
Any help would be appreceated.

Brownells sells them, but you'll need an ffl to get one mailed to you. You can find actions for sale on gunbroker or gunsamerica sometimes, so you might look there. Again, you'll need a local ffl to receive it for you, and the fee will be anywhere from $25-50 per transaction.

Easier in the used market- BROWNELLS sells actions-
Some nice copies like SURGEON rifles.- There are very good oportunities
in the used market, or in gun shows.

Nope... Brownells stopped selling Remington actions about 2 years ago.

This is crazy! I can find almost every action except a Remington 700 for sale.

My last Midway book shows Rem Actions ( no stailess if I remember correctly though )
If you don't "need" new, it may be cheaper to look for a used fire-arm and take the action from it. ??

+1 for a donar action.
You can sell off the rest of the rifle to help offset the cost.

I can turn you on to a shop that has some Remington guns for fairly cheap that are a little rough, but would be great as donors. Prices from $299 and up. (I don't work there, and have no financial interest in the store, I just like to do business with them, and suspect they would appreciate you as much as they appreciate me.)

Try Gun Broker.com

Like mentioned in previous posts, you'll probably need to have it sent to an FFL dealer.

+1 on purchasing a used rifle.
Also, for another 70 - 100 you can have the bolt from a 270, 280, 30-06 made into a magnum bolt face (except for the Lapua mags, I've heard they are a bit too big for the Rem 700).

Remington bolt rifles are a dime a dozen (okay, not quite) in pawn shops and used gun shops a couple of months after the fall hunting seasons. You can easily pick up a used rifle cheap. Either used or new will need to be trued up for a quality build.

Although I've built on a Remington action, and it's a fine rifle, if I was starting a custom job today, I'd take a very hard look at a Stiller action.

The Stiller is a very well made semi-custom action. Best of all, it doesn't need to be trued, as it's already built square and true. Buying and truing a Rem action is about the same cost as just buying the Stiller to start with.
