Remington & Colt Threaten to Move

NY has spent 45 millions on the COBIS system which failed to solve one crime. Gov Cuomo cut funding for that program this past March. I don't see micro-stamping getting passed in NY.

I doubt that Remington is bluffing should the legislature be so foolish as to attempt to pass such a requirement.

Mayor Bloomingmouth and his minions do not care about the taxpayer of New York or the jobs that will move to Arkansas or wherever if the mayor pushes his agenda. This is what happens when you have an all ego-centric Mayor who is a billionaire and thinks that the entire world hangs on his every word! This is not going to go well.

Bloomberg is the Mayor of NYC. He has little pull with the legislators from the rest of the state. He is a non-factor outside of the 5 boroughs.

As much as I disapproved of the continuance of nepotism in the NY political picture, I admire the stances Gov Cuomo has taken especially with the budget and our bleak financial situation. If he could re-vamp our tax codes, both individual and business, I would really be impressed. Then take on the unions and the MTA and....wait....I'm daydreaming. Sorry This happens when you're waiting on a flight.

I never thought I would ever say anything good about any NY politician with Cuomo as their surname.

I think Teddy Roosevelt was the last good one..

By the way, for anyone that works with Remington or Colt, please pass along that if NY is too dumb to know what they have, AZ would be happy to have them.

We have lots of room, a 2A friendly state government and lots of skilled labor. Come on down!

I do know the difference and hope that Cuomo continues to stay independent of Bloomberg and his minions. New York state always has had to struggle against the will of the city over the rights of the state. The people upstate are totally different folks than those the city.

I have two children who live and work in New York City and I lived on the West Side near the UN when I was a child for awhile because my dad worked on Wall Street as did my grandfather. Plus, I was born in Montclair NJ, only 10 miles from NY.

Colt and Remington need to be non union shops to compete in this transnational environment, IMHO. The other firerms manufacturers have either automated, emigrated or evaporated! I wrote USFA the other day. They are moribund and have no models for sale or pricing on their website anymore. I wrote to ask if they even exist now since I have two of their revolvers built in the old Colt plant. They are wonderful guns.

I will not buy any firearm with a micronumber on the firing pin from New York or anywhere for that matter! I would hope that Remington and Colt, in particular, survive and move to a more gun friendly environment.
