I have a fun old Remington Model 4 rimfire that is a hoot. My dad said to always use standard velocity rounds as high velocity will cause gas to escape into ones face from the rolling block action. Could a new stronger spring be used to enable shooting more types of ammo safely?

It is a wonderful beginners rifle with several first time shooters getting clover leaf patterns at 50 yards.

I had one for a while but it disappeared. I never had a problem using the high velocity ammo in mine but I guess it wasn't the best of Ideas. By the way, look closely at how a rolling block works. The way the block and hammer mesh when the gun is fired it all there is to hold things together, No springs involved. I also had a babd carbine in 30-30. A guy made me an offer I could not refuse,
