I have been shooting my 300 win mag with different types of bullets and powders trying to find the perfect load but each time I get to the range and take 3 shot's (1 minute between each shot) the bullets are flying all over the paper. the gun is in a rest and cant move. The gun is a model 710 by remington, I am about to go and pawn the gun off to get a 300 win mag in the model 700 or get then new 338 RCM. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Go get a 700, Vanguard, Savage in 300Win Mag and everything will surely improve. I am not a fan of the 710 but that is me.

I had, notice I said HAD, a Rem 710 in 300win mag. It came with a crappy Bushnell 3x9x40 and it cost around 300 bones.
My scope mounts and rings were loose along with the action screws.
Tighten everything up and put a limbsaver pad on that thing. Mine kicked like a like AL Gore after loosing an election. It was horrible.
The trigger was also terrible.
I tightened everything up, adjusted with the trigger and put a leupold scope that cost more than the gun on it. I found that col was more important that powders. If I remember correctly mine shot the 165 gr AB pretty well. RL-22 was the powder I had the best results with.
My boys could hit a gatoraid bottles @ 300yds all day.

The model 700 is a much better rifle.

The 700 is by FAR the better choice.

Second, quit waiting a minute between shots. Pound them out as fast as you can accurately for two reasons. One, the barrel will be closer to the same temperature( condition) rather than allowing the heat to migrate and even out. Second, you'll catch the conditions the same or close the same instead of what they are a minute before. BTW..If you not using wind flags....you should be!

The barrel on the 710 is pressed into the action :? , not screwed on, so if you ever have any problems with it, you are screwed. The 700 adl, or sps, is still a 700 action.
