Resale value of your rifles- whats been your experience?

thank you , lots of good info in your post . I know I don't have enough for LSB to be interested . I was more thinking of the guy with the big collection of REMs , I know . I doubt he'd let them take them before being paid though . also hard to imagine a bunch of dumpster items turning into $6,000 . that's how it works when you know the business . that old saying ," one mans junk is another mans treasure" , sure holds true . Thanks again .

When I was youngerand less knowledgable, and did not have the dispisable income, I had to sell or trade rifles for something more interesting or desirable at the time. I probably lost more/spent more by doing so.
Live and learn.
Ovet the last 20 years, things have gotten better as I was better educated, and selling rifles myself to replace right handed with left handed firearms when/where I could. I tended to break even.
But I also starteddto have more custom rifles built, or semi custom ones done by restocking or rebarreling to get what I wanted. These I probably won’t get the return on my investment unless I have a buyer that is looking for or interested in exactly what I have. And that is just the way it will be.
Over the past ten years, things have gotten better as I have pretty much made money on all but one rifle I have sold to fund hunting trips, where I sold some hard to find rifles like my more scarce Marlin lever actions. Those I more than doubled my investments, but it was worth the memories!
