What rings do I need to order for a Ruger M77 with a Vortex 3-10 Viper? It is for my buddy's rifle. He says a med and a high from Ruger.

What is your objective diameter? If it's 44 or less, the stock Ruger rings should work.

I used TPS super low rings with my 44mm Vortex...30mm rings ain't cheap!

The super low rings placed the scope perfectly on my Win M70, about 3/16" between the objective and the barrel.

I've never owned a Ruger though...just offering what little I know and that is you don't need medium or high rings, not with a 30mm tube.

TPS super low rings are the same height as EGW lows IIRC...or maybe its Badger Ordnance, I forget...I had to do a lot of homework to figure this out for mine too.

These are the rings I have...

These are the regular low rings...

One of them will work...

Dang...Ruger made things complicated didn't they.

I did some research, the M77 does require the rings to be 2 different heights.

Ruger doesn't offer a low 30mm ring...

Brownells says you'll need Ruger part # 4B30 (30mm high) and Ruger part # 5B30 (30mm medium)

I'm not that familiar with Rugers...but if there is another option...I'd look for one where you could maybe use a medium and a low.

Rugers and Winny's are a bit different, but I think the scope will sit awful high in the Ruger rings, which are .680 (about 3x taller than my rings)...or maybe not, due to the lack of bases.
