I have a friend that is wanting some work done on his #1 . I can remember you guys talking about a gunsmith that specializes in the #1's . would you guys give me that info , so I can pass it along to him . Thank you

He has completed one #1 project for me and he will be doing one a year for the next six years. The young man is a magician with #1. I have the prototype 1/4 rib replacement he engineered on my 300 HH. Cosmetically it looks very good, solves the problem many have mounting scopes on #1. In the last two weeks I have shot three .25 MOA groups at 300 yards so the mount must be engineered pretty well. He also improved on my bedding work, which I thought I’d done a pretty good job.
My 300 would string when it got warm, I improved it some, now I can shoot 10 shot groups without the notorious #1 stringing issue. In my case the 300 was a slightly sub MOA shooter for three shots sometimes five if I took my time and kept velocities at 30/06 levels. Now I’m running 180s at 2990 and getting 1/4 minute accuracy.
