MI law for Zone 3 (Southern MI) rifle is a straight walled case with a maximum length of 1.800".
Handguns are allowed but must be straight walled.
What this means is the 45-70 is legal in a handgun but not in a rifle. This is where the 450 Bushmaster will really shine, 45-70 performance in a 1.700" case. Its perfect for Southern MI.

I shot a custom Lawton bolt action 450 Bushmaster last year.
Awesome rifle and very accurate. You could definitely use it to make cornfield connections.
