Couldn't resist this 1960 vintage S&W K14 with the 6" barrel. It feels great in hand and has a superb double-action trigger pull. Brought it home, adjusted my dies first for full wadcutters, and recently for some cast semi wadcutters. It is a joy to shoot!

I've got the 148 grain HBWC bullets moving 780 fps from the 6" revolver and the 150 semi-wadcutters at 925 fps. The milder load is of course easier to shoot well.

Most of my shooting has been at 7 yards at the local indoor range. Rapid fire isn't allowed, so I've been shooting from low ready, punching the gun out in front of me. As soon as the front sight hits the bullseye, I'll shoot one shot, double action. Trying to combine a little practical training with the accuracy. Am pretty sure that when these old eyes get some new glasses I'll be able to tighten up the groups, particularly at longer ranges.

Turns out I've got a pair of 357's and four 38's! Always have liked both cartridges, all the way back to the 1970's when I started loading and shooting them. I've got a holster from Simply Rugged on order for the 6" K14. Am hoping that it becomes a standard companion when I'm out hiking or hunting. I sure hit well with it in the field!

Regards, Guy

Guy,
That K14 is a sweet shooter. It looks very similar to my K22 22 LR that my Grandfather gave me many years ago.
You are going to really enjoy your Simply Rugged holster. I have one, with the chesty puller for my 629 3".

I think I'm helping Rob Leahy fund his retirement account with my Simply Rugged purchases the past few years... Sigh... :)

Nice! I have never seen a 14 that wouldn't shoot. I have tons of Rob's leather. He used to stich them up sitting in the school bus he drove in the Walmart parking lot in Eagle River, AK. Less than 1/2 mile from where we lived when I was a kid. Of course that parking lot was wilderness then.
