Has anyone had any issues with their sako 85 empties hitting the scope and falling back in? I had warne mounts and noticed it once or twice in about 30 rounds get a double round feed jam thought it was me slow and short cycling the bolt on the bench to be easy on my brass didn't give it much thought. After warne had issues on the sako 85's changed them out to redfield's reverse dovetail mount with leupold rings. Now you have to use just the right amount of force and it will clear. Too little it hits the exctractor and falls in the breech too much and it hits the scope and falls back in the breach. Happens when cycling live ammo and empties. That is one reason I went with this mount setup was to get the scope nice and low instead of the high mount of the optilocks but can't have it affecting reliability!! I have a zeiss 3.5X10X44 on it which may not help since they have that bulb at the windage adjustment. suggestions?

I took it to the gunsmith and took off the scope and ran it through its paces. He says rifle ejects terrific without the scope so I need to go to atleas leupold medium rings probably high rings would be the best with the zeiss scope which has a little bit bigger adjustment projections. Might be able to get leupold and medium rings. Good to know it is not a problem with the rifle but it sucks I have to mount the scope higher I like them down nice and tight. I guess that is why sako xtra low mounts are so high they already know about the high ejection angle.

That is a bummer. I hope the med rings will work for you. Like you, mounting the scope as low as possible is always the best. Med height rings are not that bad though.
Maybe another option is to go with a different scope. I shoot with Leupold scopes and the bottom portion of the adjustment housing is flat.

I had a VariX III 3.5x10-50mm scope on my 338, and when I got the 2.5x8 for the 338, I moved the 3.5x10 to my 7mm WBY. Well, I had to use High Talley mounts in order to clear the objective. I them used some neoprene and sewed up a comb piece in order to get my eye in alignment with scope. I started with the Beartooth Comb raising kit and did my own mods to the piece. Now the rifle comes up to my eye very nicely and it does treat my cheek alot nicer during recoil! Scotty
