Sako should be here tomorrow

I broke down and sold 2 Savage Rifles. A 300WSM Bear Hunter to my brother and a 243W Predator Max to a buddy's son. I took the cash and ordered a Sako 85 Finnlight - 243W. My "goto" gun is a Sake 75 Finnlight in a 270WSM. So now I have a pair of similar hunting rifles to cover about 90% of what I do. The other is that BAR 300WSM that I'm pretty happy with but it will be taking a back seat for a while.
I have a 4.5x14 CDS waiting to be mounted on it this weekend. I went a head and stocked up on 6mm 100 PT from SPS just now so I'm getting ready to start working up a load.

UPS tracking says it will be here tomorrow! :grin:

I don't doubt that you will be happy. The Sako can be very satisfying.

I think you are going to be very pleased. You know in my thread where I am asking you folks to help me decide, maybe I should look at getting a Sako in .280 Remington. I've always really liked the Sako's and felt they made one fantastic rifle. I'm just saying........................... :shock:

The newer Sako guns don't come in 280 Rem but do come in 7x64 Brenekke which as you know is a dead ringer for the 280 Rem. It could also be rechambered to 280 AI if you want.......

I LOVE all my Sako m75 rifles. Congrats on the 243 purchase. Too bad you couldn't find one in a m75 Finnlight to match your 270WSM.

I have Leupold medium ringmounts on my Sako Model 85, .338 Federal with a Kahles 3-9x42 scope on it. Really nice rifle with good scope for caliber. I love it!

I picked up the rifle today. It is as expected and very nice. I ordered Valdada bases, I have those on my 75. They are a two piece rail. I ordered WARN Max rings for rails - Low. They should be here soon. When I get the scope on I'll take a quick pic and post it. I should have time over the Holidays to slip out and sight it in.

Mighty Peace - I ran across a Sako 75 in 243 last year on Gunbroker I think and that was the last one since. I wasn't ready to purchase until now. Oh well - I'll just have to live with the 85.
