Setup includes new stock, Sav 2 trigger, Swaro Z5 3x18 with BTurrit.
Load is Lapua brass, LRAB 142gn, RL 26 at xxx charge.
Got the load shooting at 100 yds before season, so I setup 3 white quartz rocks (baseball size) on a bank at 315 yds at end hunt today.
Came back 3 clicks from 350 mark. Using a bag on the wheeler, 3 shots broke 3 rocks. This Savage 116 was sure easy to get setup right for my Deer carry rifle. My Savages have been this easy followed by the Sakos. My last couple of Rems, not so much.
I agree the Savage even in a diff stock isn't the prettiest gun in the safe but they are all shooters.
