Savage Model 14 feed problems

I picked up a new/used Savage Model 14 in 204 Ruger. I took it out today to test fire it and see how accurate it is going to be. When I got to the range I couldn't get it to feed out of the clip. Anyone else ever have this problem? If you have was there an at home fix or should I look at taking it to a gunsmith? I am planning on calling Savage Monday, but I would rather not have to send it back to them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 114 can be finicky if the magazine isn't sitting right. If you don't get two audible clicks (front and back) it might seem like its in, but its not .
