Found a stainless fluted sendero barrel and was thinking about putting it on my 700 lss, but want to make sure it's possible first? I figure there will have to bee some stock work done, but my stock is laminated and didn't know how that would work? Would it be worth the money?

Thanks,
Kyle

kpk,

Lots of options, a good gunsmith can do anything you want with the M700 action.
Just not sure why you are wanting to replace the LSS barrel.
If it were me, I would go with a Hart barrel on the LSS. You should also have the action blueprinted so everything is squared up.
You could buy a M700 action or a beat up M700 rifle and have
the Sendero barrel fitted. Add a HS Precission stock and you have a Sendero and a LSS.

I have a M700 LSS in 338 RUM and it is a shooter. What caliber do you have?

Hey JD where do you get the hart barrel if I did decide to do that? It is a 300 RUM with 26" barrel and muzzel brake. I love it. It doesn't shoot the best atm, but that's probably a little me and alot the factory remington loads I have been shooting. I was thinking about loading some 180gr ab's.

Thanks,
Kyle

kpk,

http://www.hartbarrels.com/

I have a M700 that was rebarreled with a Hart #5 Flutted 24" in 280 AI.
She shoots in the .2's if I do my part.
The barrel is an important component in accuracy BUT the guy putting it all together is key to getting extream accuracy.
PM me and I will give you the details on the Gun Smith that did the work.

My M700 LSS in 338 RUM is stock with the exception of a Pachmyer Decelerator pad and a trigger job. Scope si a Leupold VXIII 2.5x8.
This rifle shoots Nosler 200 gr BT, 210 gr PT, 225 gr PT and AB, and 250 gr PT bullets under .5 if I do my part.
In fact, all my M700's will shoot well under 1 MOA.
Good handloads should make you 300 RUM a shooter. RL25 and the 180 gr AB should be a good starting point for you.

My advice would be to have Hart do the work when you purchase the barrel. They know what they are doing.
