I have powder that is up to ten years old. Some cannisters have been opened and some still sealed. How long will it remain stable in such conditions?

Thanks,

Tom

I had a couple lbs of old IMR-4895 that was at least 20 years old. It had not been opened, but it was a lil dusty. It still performed very well in a couple 22-250's.

Around 1990, I bought an eight lb. can of IMR4064. I just emptied the can this fall and never noticed any difference in the performance of the loads. I use several different propellents, so in some instances an eight lb. can can last a long time. The propellent is kept in a dry room with the cap turned on tightly.

That's good to know. I have a pound of 4895 that has never been opened and was purchased back around '75.

Will give it a try.
