I am looking at getting a new stock for my 7mm wsm in the winchester model 70, but I am not sure if the 7mm wsm would be considered short action or long action. Thank you

The WSM family is all on the short action.

OK thats great! Because I just found a really nice stock that will fit the gun realy nice. But befoer I get it I am wondering if anyone else has used one. The stock is a Choate Ultimate Sniper Stock. I have read on alot of other sights that it is a great stock but pretty heavy. But the weight wont bother me to much.

Had one. Sold it. The guy I sold it to sold it. Quickly...

I hope you like it better than I did...

Stocks are funny things, sometimes they work out real well for one person but not for someone else. After only a few minutes using the Choate - I knew it wasn't for me. But... I'd just spent money on it, so I was unwilling to just let it go. Kept it on the rifle for a few weeks. Took it to the range a few times. Just didn't like pretty much anything about it after I actually started using it.

Best of luck with it though... Perhaps it will be Perfection for you!
