Shot the donor,

Chad,
That's one of the barrels I ordered.

No better way to honor your father than to continue is to do the things he taught you. Lots of great reloading help here too if you are worried about not doing it correctly.

CL, I think TD has the right advice and when you're ready you'll be able to do the things you enjoyed with your Dad again. You'll come back to it and find peace in it remembering your father.

Dewey, let me know how you like the AI. I simply didn't do it because my Daughter shoots the regular .250 and I just decided to KISS it with my build. I figured in a pinch we could share ammo on a hunt together.

CL, I had a similar problem after my son died and just had an awful time doing things we used to do together and some friends convinced me into honoring him by continuing to do the things we loved to do so much.
Show your Dad that he taught you well in honoring his memory.I would build the rifle.
God Bless

Thanks guys - I know you are correct, it will come in time. My Dad pretty much hung up the shotgun after his Father-in-law died (my grandpa) I keep promising myself I wont do that. Fortunately, I have some good friends who are gun cranks (some of them here). Thanks- didnt mean to get so personal.... Now lets see where were we? Ah yes... the donor... mine needs a barrel and a scope.... :) CL

That's easy enough to fix, Camera Land has some great deals on scopes and for the barrel Bartlien
Could help you with that since they make a lot of barrels for Savages.

PS. Dewey sorry didn't mean to steal your post.

TD,
You didn't steal a thing. No worries.
Actually, that's one of the things I really like about this forum. People genuinely care and when the posts wander its frequently interesting and informative.
Besides, what you said was darn nice and very well stated.
Dewey
