It was ugly! Biggest gun show I've seen in our little area so far. Your typical junk there. There was a ray of light shining down on a table WAY in the back, like the rifle gods told me I needed to go there. What I walked up on was truly an amazing site, especially for a SARS(Smart Azz Remington Shooter) like myself. Here's a list of the NIB rifles that were there.................

Remington 700 Classics
35 Whelen
6.5x55
250 Savage
350 Rem Mag
7mm Mag

Ruger M77 Tang Safety
7x57
.280 Remington :D
270 Win

So I did a little horse trading and came home with this. OOPS! Bolt has never been inserted! :D :D

That is just too cool! Great find, Mike. Congratulations! Should never have let mine slip away.

Boy that looks like the one I got off WVChevy. Sweet rifle I hope the pad isn't hard like a brick.

Actually I was thinking that was going to be the case with the pad, but it's much softer than my .264 Classic's pad. It's a brick!

Sweet! I have the same rifle and she is a shooter. The 22" barrel makes for a quick handling rifle.
A Leupold VX=3 2.5-8x36mm is just about perfect for this rifle.

Nice find and congrats on the pick up! Any new gun makes for a great day as I just left the BX where they had several I could have walked out with :) but Veterans Day is up coming where they give discounts and I have been looking hard :) them Wyoming PDogs will be in trouble now :)

I have one of the new Vortex Diamond Backs on mine ( 3-12X42 and it is nice with side focus, they also make it in 2-8X42 with side focus. These are one inch scopes.

I went with the Burris FFII 3-9x40. Less than two bills and a $50 rebate. I've had nothing but great luck with them.

Sounds like a great set up buddy.
What bullet are you going to run with?

Bought Federal 200gr Fusions to get some brass. Probably going to run 225's. Not sure what yet, I guess what I can find locally at first

Nice score on the scope Mikey, I think you'll be very happy with that set up. I've got an FFII 2x7 on my 358. Great scope.

As for loads, buy some RL15 and any 200, 225 or 250 grain Nosler, Speer, Swift, etc. they will all work well. I've never found the 35 Whelen to be fussy.

Thanks Scotty! Found rings and bases at the house, I'm going to get it mounted up today! Hopefully shoot this weekend!

Nice, can't wait to see it all set up.. It should be a great rifle for you Mikey. Pretty cool to have a NIB 35 Whelen.. I remember when mine was new.. Doesn't look that way anymore though..
