So What is on your "reloading/shooting plate" these days?

I have a few projects.

1. Play with seating depth for the Rem 700 BDL Custom to reduce group size of 110 Accubonds for the 25-06.

2. Try 6.5mm 130 Accubonds in the 264 Sendero II (though the 140 VLD's rock!)

3. Try some 200 Accubonds in the 300 RUM AWR (though the 210 VLD's rock!)

4. Sight in my 22 mag Savage 93BTVS 22 WMR ­

5. Find a load ASAP with the 200 gr Partitions for Stephan's 325 WSM. Highest priority for the upcoming TX hog hunt!

6. Sight in my 17 HMR

7. Confirm my load with the 356 Winchester Big bore

8. Find a load with my 1895 Marlin Cowboy 45-70

9. And the most important of all pick up my new baby on Wed-----the one I am silent about!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mrgreen:

1. Develop a drop chart for the 105 NCC out of my 243. (for the 1K gong, and a few yotes)
2. Fine tune the H1000 & 95 VLD out of my 243, and build drop chart. (new yote bullet)
3. Develop a load for my wifes 7-08 with the 140 AB or PT. (spring bear season will be here before I know it)
4. Develop a load for my 280 AI with the 140 BT. (New deer load for next year.)
5. Piller bed my 375 R and develop/ tweak some laods for the 260 AB. (my spring bear gun)
6. Get my 338 WM firgured with the 225 AB. (Between RL-19, IMR 4350, H4350, and RL-17 something has to shoot at least 3/4 MOA)
7. Get all brass for everything prepped and hopefuly loaded up for the year.

*Restock my 257 AI. Also pull the barrel & have some caliber designation engraving done to my stds. Maybe have the action & barrel cerrakoted.

*7mm RM, have the barrel engraved also...

*Prep 100 more 6br cases & load those plus additional 100.

*Load all my 204 emptys & prep an additional 200 cases.

*Build a 7mm/08 (instead of giving into the #1 urge). Mcm Mcswirly Model Seven stock w/Schnabel forearm. 21"-#3 brux fluted. Going for 7.5lbs or less.

*Start planning my next project!!

I need to load up the 22-250 with 55 gr BT's for coyotes and finish loading some 7x30 Waters with 120 gr BT's.
I alos need to check the sights on the smoke pole, T/C Omega 50 cal. The standby load is a .451" 260 gr PT with 120 grs 777. I am also going to try the .458 cal 300 gr BST.

Next up will be 300 Win Mag with 200 gr AB's for a friend.

Well for December,January and February it's try to cram a years worth of waterfowl hunting want to into 90 days of time. :roll:
(Got started on that yesterday.Shot pintails,teal,widgeon and gadwall.)

I just boxed up a barreled 700 Magnum action to go in the mail tomorrow.I'm having it rebarreled with a 28 inch tube in 264 Win Mag.
Now I just have to scrounge up some dies and bullets for that :shock:
Also need to decide what kinda stock and glass is going on the ol gal when I get her back from the smith......

Next weekend the wife is going to Mo with me.She's got some extra money she wants to spend on a doe tag.So next weekend I have to go deer hunting again.

I've got a Model 70 in 7Mag that I replaced the stock on .It needs to be pillar bedded then skim bedded after that.Which reminds me I need to get some more Devcon......

Still need to develop a load in my 06 with the 165 ABs I have sitting on the shelf,which means I need more Reloader 22.....

After that I have an itch to get a 243 to use as a varmit rifle......
There are ENTIRELY too many yotes running around on our lease in Mo.

Need to aquire some type of progressive reloading press that will handle 223.That AR in the safe requires lots of feeding.
Also want to build two more uppers for it.One being a 1/7 223 and the other in 6.5 Grendel.

So many rifles,so little time.Damn RADD :wink:

2. Find a load for my Tikka 30-06 that will shoot less than one inch and have decent velocity with 165 to 180 grain bullet area. I want to try the 168 etips just to see
3. Develope a good outdoor load for my .357 686.

Not as much as everyone else however.

Your .325 WSM delima.

Pop I load for a buddies 325 WSM and his load is IMR4350- 64.5 grs. with the 200 gr. Partition at 2.865 OAL Velocity is 2812 fps.
With the 200 gr. AccuBond, the load is 65.5 grs. of IMR4350 OAL is 2.900. Velocity is a touch more and they both shoot about equally as well.

Load some more 90 gr. E-tips for my son's 6mm IF I could find some........
Work on the 25-06 with 110 gr. Accbonds for next year when I draw that coveted Bighorn sheep tag!
Load some more 30-06 165 gr. Accubonds. 57.4 grs of IMR4350.
My 6mm Remington needs some more 100 gr. Partitions loaded up as well. MIght as well get to it!

I hear the brass prep issue -

1. I've said it for two years now - Consolidate ! I don't have enough glass for the rifles that are in my safe.
Going to make a couple more moves with scopes and leave them be !
2. Rem 700BDL Varminter 7-08 is going to receive the 6.5 X 20 Zeiss with Varmint Reticle scope.
A. Prep all brass & Confirm N-140 w/ 140gr B-tips "will" be the load.
3. Send 8X Leupy in for a reticle change - Currently has (not sure, but Extremely small dot )
A. Will place this on my M700 Mtn Rifle in .280 & use as a light carry rifle.
B. Find a load - Hopefully with 140gr AB's
4. Put a plan together to rebuild the Wife's Model 7 .260 ( have said this for a couple years now, but it
needs a longer "quality" tube ) She's starting to rack up the preference points for deer and will draw
a real quality area within the next year or two - need to have "her gun" ready to go - emphasis placed
on this project. Yes, the 130gr AccuBond will be the bullet of choice ! :grin:

Building , loading, modifying and a painting project .
1. I still want to build a 35 Ultra or 358 Shooting Times Alaskan. I have the 8mm mag for the Alaskan but I need to get it re-barreled. Do you think a 35 Whelen barrel will work for a re-chamber or is the twist not right?
2. I have a new 308 and will have a 32acp to load for. I'd like to develop a 165 gr lead-free load for the 308 and try loading for the 32 Seecamp.
3. I will be going on a guided hunt in Wyoming next year with JDMAG and I want to take my 375 RUM (OLD FAITHFUL). I want to swap stocks for the hunt from the LSS shiny stock to a XCR stock I bought used so it doesn't get beat up if it rides in a scabbord and whacks a few trees. I also want to swap out the scope from the Zeiss with a BDC turret to a Leupold with Boone & Crockett reticle. Turrets get turned too easy riding in any kind of case and in the pre-dawn you can't see to check it. The reticle is also faster to use.
4. I want to try painting my Tikka T3 Lite. kind of a O/D and tan sage pattern with black streaks. I'm still trying to picture that too! I'll mess up a lot of 2X4s before I touch the rifle.
5. Load up about 30 rounds of 257 Wby. That should be about right for my next attempt at an antelope. Well, maybe 50 rounds.

It was a chaotic year, and I still need to do a bunch a load developement for the XP. That along with fine tuning the Marlin 45-70 and cast load so I can have Skinner build me a front "Sourdough" to match my load.

I should also be finishing up my 280 AI project this winter. The McSwirly stock should be here end of dec/first of jan. I'll also be taking the scope off and sending it in to have the duplex replaced with a TMR. Final step will be having the action, bolt handle, and trigger gaurd cerakoted by the local smith. Should be a sexy looking, tack driving, 8-8.5 lb package.

Our 4-generation Mauser-Weatherby project is top of the list right now - must get it properly bedded in the stock, and back in action. Possibly re-barreled. Once the rifle is up and running, work up loads for mule deer hunting... Hoping to make the 115 Nosler Partition the "standard" hunting bullet for that rifle.

Assist son as he loads a mess of 6mm Rem varmint loads. Must be ready when the sage rats & rock chucks make their appearance in the spring!

I have some bullet "tests" waiting in the wings. Hope there's enough gallon jugs on hand!

Working with .300 WSM to see if I can get an AccuBond load as accurate as it slings Berger VLD's - or close.

And of course I actually do a lot of shooting all winter long. Normally once a week at the range. Mostly .22, with a lot of .45 & .308 thrown in.

Next weekend is shotgun time! Am hoping to bring in a goose or two... Hoping to do some more coyote hunting over the winter as well.

Reading through the posts, there's a lot of "stuff" going on at loading benches, gunsmithing shops, and even out on the rifle ranges over the next few months! Cool.

Since none of my plans seem to materialize, there's no risk in putting them down!!! :grin:

1.Sell two stainless props, and air deflector wing, an old Remington .22, and a 3-9x50 Leupy Rifleman to generate cash.
2.Get a qb78 co2 air rifle with target stock and sights - cheap trigger time and right at home. Let's me relive my boyhood shooting my way up through NRA qualifications, too.
3. Duracoat the Mauser again, want a different sheen to it.
4. Finish the thumbhole walnut stock built from scratch for the Encore. It's about done, but want to make a pillar bedded forend out of the same chunk of wood.
5. Decide what method to use to differentiate brass and loads to prevent screw-ups. Haven't had any, but the potential is there because of headstamps and bullet similarity. I've got 7mm-06 made from WW '06 brass, 7mm-08 from RP .308 brass, .243's all WW and FC, .308's in 3 different flavors, and some .270 WW now 7mm-06, along with a bunch of .25-06 WW stuff. Some days they all look alike. I already use Sharpie colors on the primers to keep track of brass life and resizings, so that's out. Thinking about using Sharpie colors inside the rim, where it doesn't wear off easily. Any suggestions?
6. Develop a cup&core bullet load for my son's 7mm WSM. The AB's shoot fine, but he likes ringing gongs and punching holes too. A lot.
7. Settle on brass/bullet/load for my wifes 7mm-08. Need to play with seating depth with the 120 BT's.
8. Check all the scopes, bases, rings for tightness and alignment. Found one that I must have been sleeping when I installed - the adjustable windage base wasn't centered worth a hoot. Now I won't feel confident until they're all checked out.
9. Fill another notebook with load notes!
10. Retire my old reliable Herter's powder measure. Works fine if you tap the handle to the stop about 5 times when dumping powder into the case. Most of the time. I polished all the innards with Flitz, but now and then some kernels hang and make it into the next case. I can't visually tell the difference in some of these cases if it's .5 grain more or less, so I weigh 'em all after measuring. That's probably a good thing, but I keep seeing the electronic gizmo's and feel like I'm due. Sort of like RADD in the loading equipment vein.
