Speed of 6.5x280 AI?

How fast do you think a 6.5x280 AI would push a 129gr ABLR out of a 26" tube?

Scott, this is just a guess, but with the little extra speed I get out of the 150 and 168's from my 270 and 7mm WSM, I am thinking 3250 or so. Maybe more, but I am thinking a solid 3250. Wished I had it in QL to give you a better idea, but my 264 does about 3350 with a 26" barrel with 130 AB's so I am thinking we should be real close.. If not even closer than I guessed.

I was pretty sure it would top 3200 but not by how much. I don't belong to the 6.5 club yet. I'm thinking the 6.5x280AI or the 26 Nosler might be my ticket into that club. Time will tell and maybe what action I come up with.

The 6.5/280 AI would be a sensible round and a great choice although the standard 6.5-06 is not far behind. If you want extreme speed then the 26 Nosler would be the one. Whichever way you choose 6.5's have a lot to offer.......

I'd take the 6.5/280AI as it probably burns 30 less grains of powder for the same results as other speedy 6.5s.
