I looked at them but went with a Kimber.

Very nice guns. I also went with the Kimber though. I am a 1911 kinda guy.

Ok, thanks for the fast reply's! I might be able to trade my ruger p89 9mm for the springfield XD 45 ACP with a 5 inch barrel
Okay, the 1911 style is a class by itself and I am with JD & Pop..
With that said, since a nice 1911 is bit more costly than a XD. I have an XDSC and love it, form, fit and function. I intend to get another in the 45 compact. I have pointed 3 coworkers towards them and the love theirs as well..
The XD is an awesome rig for what it is... & I think you would be very happy with it....
