The front swivel stud pulled out of the stock of my 700 VLS this afternoon.
What would be the best way to repair this?

Some very good Epoxy and a hypodermic needle. or a cheap Cajun injector.Put a peace of masking tape over the hole first, and cut out the hole so as not to get the epoxy on the finish. You may want to drill some smaller holes in the sides of the main hole, and inject some of the epoxy in the before inserting the stud into the main hole, and let that oooze out and then fill the rest of the hole with the epoxy.
Good luck.

During the summer months, I hang a Harris Bi-Pod of the stud. This time of year, I use a sling for carry.

Uncle Mike's makes a front stud that is a machine screw with a nut backing it. this would permanently solve the problem, and secure it against the bipod causing a second pull out. All you'll need to do is relieve an area for the nut to rest it - either big enough to get a wrench on, or exactly the width of the nut and with two flats to hold it when you tighten up the stud into it. I'm more in the "big enough for a wrench" group, if the forearm and barrel channel offer the room. I think yours will. Oh, and some blue loctite will help keep it all secure long term.

Sounds even better!

Come to think of it, you could epoxy the nut in place (after you figure out how to position it so that the stud is properly oriented for swivel attachment) and then a wrench wouldn't be necessary.

I was thinking of the Uncle Mike's solution too. I think that would be the best fix.
Thanks for everyone's help, greatly appreciated.

JD, I had the front swivel pull out on my STW as well. The stress from the weight of the bipod under recoil was too much for the stivel to handle. Initially, I reamed out a lareg hole to give myself a good surface to exopy to. That solution lasted for about 5 rounds. Then I fixed it with the solution Dubyam suggested. No more problems.

The epoxy might work, this is my 22-250 so recoil wouldn't be a problem.
I would hate to have the epoxy give way and have the rifle land on something harder than the snow.
I think the new Uncle Mike's bolt on stud is a better fix.

JD-
I have no idea if its an uncle mikes of noyt but the front stud on my 250 is threaded into an insert as described. This rifle is Heavy and has a thin Schnabel froend. So far so good. It also set into the epoxy of a full length bedding job. As i said its a thin forend, bot works so far. Obviously though I dont carry it a a lot. CL

Thanks fellas for all your help and support.
