Well a while back I received my first ever custom rifle made up by a fellow on another forum. Basically it is a 7mm or 300 RUM necked to .277, with the taper and shoulders blown out some.

IT was originally designed to shoot some heavy 169.5 gr bullets, but for fire forming I decided to try out some other stuff I had on hand to see how it would work out.

Using a decent load of 98grs of WC 872, I had shot a few of the 150's before and they did not shoot all that well. I did however hit a seating depth which is proving to be great for several bullets and the Noslers are included.

Here is a pic of the group I shot this past Saturday,

THe one lone hole to the left is the beginning of a test with some Federal cases that I just got disgusted with and decided to abort. The 7 shots to the right are all the 150 gr Solid Bases at 200 yds.

I purchased these bullets close to 15 years ago and at the time I was working on some heavy loads for some folks who hunted S. Tx. Since then, they have moved on, and I really had nothing else I wanted to shoot them through. However, the new rig is sure proving to be a fine launching platform. THe only drawback is that even though they still make the BT and Part. , the Solid base is sorely missed in the many weights it used to be avaiable in.

I am looking forward to putting them to the tst on some of the feral hogs hopefully come LD weekend. I am sure they will be somewhere in the class of a 55gr BT out of a .220 Swift hitting a PD, but sometimes you just got to take the vermin your presented.
