Back in December I was gifted a Mec Grabber 76 12ga reloading press, I posted here for information about an operator's manual since the press has been updated by MEC with different parts that my press doesn't have or they look different. and the new` manual is different.
NY Dan replied he had two manuals for the press in question and I asked him for a photocopy since he still used the press, and I didn't need the original.
He said he would make a copy for me when he had time and send it to me, I told him I was in no hurry and to take his time since I had other projects, and the holidays were just around the corner. While waiting we had several conversations about the press, and he tried to help me to get it up and running since it had to have a good cleaning and be lubricated.
There were a lot of things out of adjustment and the press just wouldn't make a useable shell, I even called MEC and talked to one of their techs who didn't know much about the older models.
I finally just set it aside till I could get Dan's copy of the manual.
I don't know how the previous owner could load a useable shell since it was so far out of adjustment.
I got Dan's care package in the mail today and I was happy to see it since I needed an indoor project, when I opened the envelope, I found not a photocopy but an original manual for the press along with copies of the bar chart and bushing chart plus copies of the upgrade's fliers MEC sent out to the registered owners.
I never expected to see an original manual and I greatly appreciate Dan sending me one. The parts list and pictures match the press I have so
now I can get it adjusted and load some shells on it.
Thanks Dan, a picture is worth a thousand words and this manual shows the parts that need to be adjusted and tells how to adjust them.
I should have it working right in short order.
