Last year was not the best year of my life. Sickness, loss of friends and family, economic struggles and many more rain clouds seemed to pour on me and my family.
There were a couple of windfalls however, our little girl was born healthy in May, I got a lot of remodeling done on the house, and I won a couple of contests. The first was one of those, Like, Comment and Share Facebook posts. I almost didn’t do it as I never seem to win anything.
Douglas barrels was giving away a free barrel in a lottery. All one had to do was Like, Comment and Share. Wouldn’t you know, I won it!
Say hello to Golden Ticket. She’s a 1951 Winchester Model 70 action, with a Douglas Premium Airgauged barrel, pillar and glassbedded into a McMillan stock. Leupold PRW mounts/rings hold a VX-3i 3.5-10x40mm with a custom bdc reticle. A Montana sling rounds out the package. I put her together as a foul weather gun, preferring to keep “Old Reliable” in her gorgeous walnut stock and out of heavy rain or snow.
After break in, I shot this 3-shot 1/2” group at 100 yards with my last 3 cartridges.
I think we are going to get along famously.
