Ordered a couple boxes of the Trophy Grade 165 grain AB's for the 30-06 a couple weeks ago and got out to the range this morning. The 165 AB is the one I will go with this fall for whitetails. It shoots the first two touching and the third opens the group up to about 3/4 inch. The barrel heats up quick this time of year. It shoots the TG 150 PT's very well too. I also got a chance to runs some of the TG 100gr AB's throught the 257 Roberts, also a TGR and it is a great match. Three rounds touching with boring regularity. But to be honest this 257 hasn't found anything it won't shoot yet. I have a Trijicon 3X9X40 on the 06', green dot, mill dot. Right now I have a VX3 4.5X14 on the 257 but that will not stay on that gun. I am considering either the VX3 2.5X8 or the Zeiss Conquest 3X9. The Luepy is a better fit but I sure do have a lot of confiedence in that Zeiss. To say I am very satisfied with the TGR and the trophy grade ammo would be an understatement.

Sounds as if you are set for this fall! That is some fine shooting. The TBRs will shoot, and the TG ammunition is good stuff. I do like the Trijicon scopes. It sounds as if you made a good choice in that with your '06. I would think that either the Leupold or the Zeiss you named would work very well on your 257. You are correct that the Leupold will look a little better; and really, it will give you all the optic power you will need. When you settle on a scope, give us a picture of the rifle.

Congratulations on two great rifles and chamberings.
Those AB's will do the job for you.

What a great pair of rifles! Classic cartridges that just work well. That Zeiss Conquest is a nice piece of glass and the 2.5x8 Leupold is just a great scope too. Can't wait to see a picture of them. Scotty

You don't sound the least bit tickled or anything! . That's great and those are both really good chamberings. You are set for just about everything out there. Congratulations.

Mmmmm. A .30-06 and a .257 too... Nice!

Good to hear that they're so accurate for you. Your description of the accuracy sounds good, real good.

Quite a pair to draw to...

Enjoy 'em, and let us know how they perform during hunting season.

For sure, a pair of handsome rifles. The targets will be interesting to see.
