The waiting game begin

I can't wait to see your new rig DF. Your rifles are always well thought out and excellent shooters. I will be picking your brain when I decide to build one. Scotty

The Brown truck delivered the stock today. I like this new version of the AICS stock.

Rommel,

I saw that first picture and wondered how they managed to pack a stock in that tiny box. Seriously, it looks like business.

This is a very good thread, you that live south of the border definitely have one up on us in the custom jobs. There are not a lot up here:(.Our shop here in Regina has a real bright young fellow who moved up here a couple of years ago from Montana.
He has just started making rifles and I have heard a lot of good things about him I hope we can keep him after he gains all this experience

Blessings,
Dan

build components sound good and the smith seems to be revered you should have a great rig on your hands. i recently started shooting a 6.5x47 lapua i am using a 130g vld in mine but use the 140 in the 6.5x284. your going to love it. am using 40g of h4350 and getting 2810 11 feet from the muzzle. this is on a savage platform but i think i will have to do the whole custom gun on that one next for a tactical match rifle. good luck and good choice.

On a calm day at our bi-monthly 1K shoot, this cartridge, from a capable rifleman, is unbeatable. If I can get the 140 Berger or the 139 Scenar to within mid 2800 fps, it will be great.

I will try your recipe first and see what kind of velocity I'm gonna get. My buddy Frank is also building one on a Browning A-Bolt action. His tube is an 8 twist Hart so I'll have two rifle to develop loads for.

LOL, I haven't thought of that until you point it out.

Dan, indeed we are very fortunate here. Thanks to the founding fathers. Without their foresight, none of these will be possible.

I've only shot the AI sniper rifles, not the AI stock/chassis on anything else. Very good stock/chassis, a real comfortable shooting platform, particularly from prone.

Since you've got one, another makes perfect sense!

I like the AI chassis system I just have a mental block with anything that I have to put my hand through like the AI or a thumbhole stock I can't use one to save my life, the new bows that have the riser bar that cover the hand is the same way. Maybe its the monkey and the knot hole scenario I don't know I couldn't even put hand guards on my motocross bikes when I raced them weird huh? Would love to have an AI chassis but I would be better off mentally with a 2x4.

I love the ergonomics of the AICS stock. The shooting hand position is more natural especially when shooting prone or off hand. Thumbhole stock is not for everyone. People with small hands or stubby short finger will have a hard time using this stock. I have long and slender finger so I don't have that problem.

i really like the ai system and woulod love to own one, maybe i will go to a hypnotist and try to get over that problem i have.

Christmas came early for me. My gunsmith friend Jim called today to tell me that he's just putting some finishing touches on my rifle and it will be ready for pick-up this afternoon . Great! that will give enough time to get the rifle ready for the 1st competition of the year schedule for January 29, 2012. Picture will be up soon. 8) 8)

We're definitely looking for the picture. Congratulations on getting the call.

Rommel,

That looks all business from this angle!

Sure is DrMike. She's built strictly for punching paper. I had Jim installed his scope mounting system to make sure she will be as solid as a rock.

Well, it certainly appears to be a stable platform. Shortly, we'll see some superb posts of little bitty groups.

Very nice looking rig. Shot a buddies 40X with the AI stock and like the feel but not the price tag.

It's certainly is pricey, but compared to a Mcmillan, the AI is a bargain.
