we are in for a real screwing on that one.Her position on the second amendment is not good.

up. She couldn't even give an answer on how she personally feels about self defense. She kept dodging the question with Its now something I have had to deal with answers.

BHO is right, vote for a change. We ain't seen noting yet.
Time to cling to our guns and our religion.

The changes that will come will all be legal--not necessarily ethical or right, but legal. The sole consolation I see at this point is that she is replacing a liberal on the bench. However, in the final analysis, she may be even more of an activist than he was.

The liberals are in the process of destroying what is left of our great country.I hate to see it.I have lived in the best days of America,in the last 50 years. It was damn sure great for a long time, but that is over now.

While the US is in some peril, it is a long way from over. The struggle is over only when people give up on investing their lives to make the nation stronger in order to take all they can. When the overwhelming majority begin voting for pogy to benefit themselves rather than voting their conscience and when good people cease being good and quit speaking out against evil, then the battle is over. That has not happened yet, though there appear to be many that give every indication of thinking only of their own comfort rather than what is best for the country. Minorities, not majorities, make history; and a few good men, standing together and influencing those with whom they have contact, are still a mighty force for good. Undoubtedly, liberal politicians, and gutless conservatives, are more concerned about the next election than they are the preservation of the country. However, speaking out and speaking up are still effective means of changing opinion and putting steel in the spine even of politicians. I have lived in good days, and I pray that better days lie ahead. And if not, then let me give my energies in a cause that is destined to succeed rather than surrendering my freedom to people that would like to think for me.

There are too many people hell bent on making America a socialist country.
I never though the American people would elect B.O. It was a knee jerk reaction to George Bush. They hated him so badly that they elected this guy. They wanted change, they got it.Clinton is the real reason behind the economic disaster, but Bush got credit for it.I am not pro Bush, don't get me wrong.I think he was an idiot, but he was not responsible for all the economic trouble.

Without going into the long diatribe I could, quoting every source from Reagan back to John Locke, I'll say only this. I sat in a political science course while in college many years ago, and listened to a host of well intentioned, heartfelt statements about how unfortunate it was that people in our own country are hungry, and without healthcare (though healthcare is denied no one in America, regardless of ability to pay, at non-profit hospitals nationwide), and how it is the government's responsibility to provide for these citizens, and how no reasonable person could possibly disagree. I was near vomit, realizing that there are a host of ill-informed, emotionally-driven sheep who will believe whatever they are told. Of course, the issue then becomes, what are they told?

In my poly-sci class, I ended up asking a simple question about how each of us made ends meet, and was not surprised to find the most bleeding hearts were those who had never had to work to survive. As I sit now, in the economy we are all living in, knowing that I have been laid off twice in 13 months, and have managed to take a 75% cut in pay in the process, and yet my bills are all paid (due to extra work of all kinds and a wife who is working her tail off, too), I have even less sympathy for those who wish to take from those of us who work to provide for the "unfortunate" and "injusticed" among us, and my blood boils.

I made a statement all those years ago, and it holds true today, eerily. What did I say? "We will either return to a Constitutional republic, or we will become a suburb of Japan." I was wrong. It will be a suburb of China if we fail.

But take heart, we can win this. Start at home, daily, and at the local level. Take back our cities, then our states, then our nation. It's the way to win.

Dubyam,

That is the attitude that made America great, and that will be the attitude that will ensure that America remains great. It is the individual who has a will to meet trials and defeat them that will still be standing when the rest have folded and run from the field.

Hear hear,
But take heart, we can win this. Start at home, daily, and at the local level. Take back our cities, then our states, then our nation. It's the way to win
That is correct my friend.

Personal effort and fights for freedom as a collective becomes a free country built by honourable men. Conversly, the same holds true. Personal laziness and lack of respect for our God given rights leaves us in a socialist state.

They will never take away any of my personal rights as long as I am above ground, but that is not what concerns me.They can do alot of damage to the country at large, and rewrite the Constitution. That is their ultimate goal.

They would need the states to ratify the Constitution, and that is a stretch. Reinterpret the Constitution by activist judges? Now, that is a different story and has been ongoing for a long time. However, that is why there is a need for all citizens who believe in the nation to work to maintain the freedoms we enjoy. There has never been a time when there was not a looming crisis for the country, and now is no different. We still must be willing to invest ourselves in the solution, rather than seeking our own comfort.

So,how do you deal with living in Canada? I mean your firearms rights are practically non existent. Most of the people I know from Canada are ultra liberal. So, how can you stand to live there?

I know some people who live in the States, and they are ultra liberal. They voted for BHO and like Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy! Of course, that doesn't represent all the people in the US, anymore than a few Canadians in your ken represent Canada. Drawing conclusions based upon limited experience is a dangerous thing.

Historically, there are some significant differences in the two countries. The US fought a war for its independence, whereas Canada took over a century longer to obtain the same independence. Consequently, Canadians tend to take a longer view of history than do Americans.

In some respects, Canadians have more freedom concerning gun ownership than do Americans. Can you have a rifle sent to your doorstep, together with the ammunition? Can you purchase a handgun through the mail? In other respects, there are limitations. To be certain, we had a liberal government that imposed on the nation a gun registry. However, many people are working very hard to change the present laws, but they work within the law.

Here in the north, the people tend to be conservative, much like people living in the central and western US (think Wyoming, Montana, the Dakotas, Oklahoma, Kansas, etc.). The shooting sports are well represented here, and gun ownership is common among the households. Hunting is a way of life for many Canadians living in rural areas, and especially in the north.

The Canadian people are generally generous and gracious, just as is true of Americans. The exceptions only prove the rule. There is a reason why many Americans look to Canada as a vacation destination. They know they will meet people that are friendly, and that they can relax in safety, enjoying the hospitality of people that welcome their presence.

Canada is America's largest trading partner and has generally stood with the US in major conflicts, though voicing concerns when American policy was not beneficial to Canada (think smuggling American diplomats out of Tehran before Ronald Reagan became President, opening airports right across the country to American fleets during the 9-11 crisis, assuming responsibility for one of the hottest regions of Afghanistan when the remainder of NATO shirked their responsibility). Despite US protectionist efforts and disregard for trade deals, Canadians have generally shown restraint, seeking to work through the difficulties with negotiations. In part, this is due to a deep regard for process ingrained in the Canadian psyche and great respect for law and good order.

So you see, .405, it is not difficult to deal with living in Canada. There are sufficient benefits to make the time here a joy. We have our problems, just as the US has its problems. There are always threats to freedoms on the horizon, but there is always reason to work for a better future and a brighter tomorrow.

That is good to hear. I have Canadian friends and church members.I didn't mean anything negative.I guess a lot of the liberals live in the cities like most of them do here in the US.There are regions of the country like the northeast that are extremely liberal here in the US. Where I live in the south is very conservative.I have always enjoyed going to Canada on vacation and enjoyed meeting the people there.I was under the impression that the gun laws there are pretty strict.I wasn't trying to insult you. I love Canada.I think the Canadian rockys are the best.Hell after B.O gets through ,Canada may be conservative.I don't think the American people realize what they have done.O.ne B.ig A.ss M.istake A.merica
