Okay, back from Wyoming. Various aches and pains dealt with. Feeling strong. Eating good antelope & mule deer steaks to gain strength!

This year, after nine years of trying, I finally drew a coveted late season mule deer tag here in Washington! Not my first choice area, but an area that I hunt regularly in the general (October) season. I'm very familiar with the area.

Now, I need you guys to get out and do your snow dance for me please...

The November rut will bring out the bucks, but snow... Snow will bring the Big Boys down out of the mountains! We have a significant mule deer migration here every fall, and I want a chance at a Big Boy from up in the mountains. These guys are magnificent. They can go 300 pounds, or more, and often have impressive antlers as well.

Right now it's temps in the 50's and lows in the 40's and has been rainy, though today looks like blue skies. So, give me a week or so (tag is good 1-20 Nov) and do the snow dance! Yes, focus that snow on Central Washington, in the Cascades!

I'll be camping up in the hills for a few days at a time throughout the season, rut usually peaks later in the season. We will see. Mama and I took the dog and the Jeep up there yesterday and spent some time scouting. Fun day. Dog had a great day chasing mud puddles and throwing himself into them...

Think Snow!

Thanks, Guy

Snow for you is my wish.... You can reciprocate for me as I am in Wisconsin headed for Alder MT for elk and mule deer after a stop in Cody Wyoming where I hope to meet Wildgene.. A light dusting of snow is always a great asset for us hunters.. ;-)

Well, I see that we have a snowfall warning here today, and it snowed heavily on Friday past. I'll wish that some of this could be sent down to you. It does mean that my late season elk hunt will be somewhat easier, and I should be able to tag a whitetail quickly.

Good luck Guy, I am hoping for snow in Eastern Oregon in a few weeks as well, to knock them elk off the ridgelines a little myself!

Good luck out there. Are you going to keep running that danged 25-06 or switch up to the 30-06 for this hunt?

Sorry, Guy, I have a shattered roof on my home and snow would be a major disaster!

Well heck, fix your doggone roof! I only need snow above 3500' if that helps...

Scotty... That's a good question. Hard to turn away from the .25-06 with all the success it's brought me... But it would be nice to blood that pretty .30-06 CDL too. I don't think it matters much.

Guy this morning we had well over a foot --in the lowlands ( a tad more in the high country ) and the wind chill was a minus 12

how much do you want (-:

It is bright and sunny and about 65 degrees F here in rainy Washington today with no rain! Maybe my house can dry out a little.

We had another foot of wet snow today. Temp is currently -3. I'll be happy to send a little your way, Guy.

An early Christmas wish for Guy. May you receive a foot of snow for your up coming hunt.
Good luck!

Thanks. 39 here in town this morning and there's snow above 5,000' - I'd just like that snow level to drop a little, say down to 3500' or so and really hit hard with a foot or more up above 4,000' elevation.

I need to remember to put all four tire chains in the Jeep.

Guy

Snowing at 4,000' now. That's good. Need more, and lower...

Hope that you get a bunch, Guy. Its a balmy 19 degrees here with frost all over everything. No bugs and I am loving it. We had a sprinkle of snow the other night, and hopefully next week there will be lots of it. Put on the tunes, turn up the stereo and get dancing.
