Hi guys,

Ok here is what I have.

Caliber(s): 7.62mm NATO (.308 Win)
Operation: bolt action
Barrel: 502 mm
Weight: 4.85 kg unloaded, without scope and bipod
Length: 1117 mm
Feed Mechanism: 5 rounds internal box mag. Will accept FN FAL MAGAZINES

Only 51 complete factory rifle sets of the FN Model 30 were ever imported into the U.S. This very rare rifle is in mint condition and has fired less than 20 rounds. The only signs of wear are some chips in the finish on the scope turrets. It's a true tack driver capable of .5 MOA in the right hands.

It has a Mauser action mated to a 20" extra heavy barrel chambered in .308 with a flash hider. The stock has an adjustable cheek piece and a bottom rail. It comes as a complete factory set including Anschutz match iron sights with an adjustable diopter and selectable color correction in the rear. It has all the inserts for the front globe sight as well. The factory set also includes a Hensoldt 4x factory FN scope, adjustable bipod, sling, adjustable sling mount/swivel, LOP shims, and an aftermarket hardcase. This is one great gun to be sure!

A little about my brother who owned it was a "green shirt" responsible for launching and recovering aircraft on the USS Saratoga flight deck during the first Gulf War. He served his country proudly and was Honorably discharged after his hitch was up. After 9/11, his commitment to serve our country called him once again and he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Suddenly and tragically, without warning, just 2 days before his enlistment date, he passed away in the prime of life.

Abhunter,

The history of the rifle makes it priceless in your hands. While it is a tragic way to obtain such a great part of history, it is good to know that it is in good hands that appreciate what it is. I know you are proud of your brother, as are all who had family who served. Thanks for sharing.

FYI
there is an FN historical group, phone number is . 336 394- 4138
I bet they have some info on your rifle.
I bet there are a few in europian sniper teams , and I bet there is a good chance some are still in use.

I want to thank you all for the kind words. I have had a lot of time to think about it and I have this up for sale. I like to shoot and I do not feel right shooting this rifle. It should be in the hands of a person who will respect it for what it is. I know the history of it and saw it take a wild boar at over 300 yards. Do not want to sound bad but I know my brother would want me to feel right putting it into a person who would use it but hold on to it for collecting.
