I was up and at it early this morning with a few rifles.

Dad's 25-06
I shot a few groups just to double check things before I load up a few boxes and give it back to him. The group that has been shooting well has been 50.5 gr of RL19 with the 110 AccuBond. Today I was able to keep groups under 1" and speeds at 2920 or so fps. So now I am going to clean it up and send it back to dad with a few boxes for him to hunt with.

7mmRM
IMR4350 with 150 CTBT seated .100" off lands
61.0gr=.544" 2923/2909/2917
62.0gr=1.238" 2977/2975/2972
63.0gr=.887" 3011/3023/3014

I think I am going to try seating them a little deeper with 63.0gr and see what happens or would you try to get more speed?

270
60.0gr H4831sc 130 B-Tip
2.774"ogive=.980" 3025/3077/3059
2.764"ogive=.861" 3032/3019/3027
2.754"ogive=.921" 3065/3055/3028

I also shot a 130 B-tip into jugs at 20 yards. I found it in #4.

30-06
165 Partition with H4350
56.5gr=1.852"
57.5gr=2.121" 2831/2831/2819
58.5gr=2.273" 2860/2874/2844

This is the first time trying the 165 in this rifle. I am wondering what would you try next?

Here is a 165 shot into a jug. 20 yards found in jug #5. I am guessing it was around 2800fps

Last up was the 338wm
210 Partition with 76.0gr RL19
2.726" ogive=1.582" 2884/2909/2909
2.716" ogive=3.545" 2914/2898/2902
2.706" ogive=2.165" 2923/2900/2880

I think it is time to try a new bullet. I have some 225 Hornadys and did shoot a 1.10" group with them one time. I would also like to try the 225 AccuBond. (if you have a few for sale let me know)

All in all, it was a good morning. The 270 is ready to hunt and the 130 B-tip did a nice job. The 7mm is also very close. Now I just need to mess with the 30-06 and try a new bullet in the 338wm.

Looks real good to me, the 25-06, 270 and 7mm all look real good to me.

In your post you said you tried 61 grains of RL19 with the 210PT? Even 71 grains sounds sorta low to me?

I didn't find the 210PT's to really come alive in my 338 till I was at the upper end of the pressure curve with RL19. Once I hit that spot, accuracy was very good, as the was the FPS consistency.

76.0 grains of RL19 in the 338wm with 210 Partition. typo on my part.

Also, forgot to mention that I did shoot 165 Pt out of the 30-06 before I had my trigger reworked and I shot a 1.25" group with 68.5gr of H4530. I am guessing there the action screws are off a little.

Like Scotty said, the 25-06, 270 and 7mm all look like they are ready to hunt. For the 06 you might try a different primer. The pictures that follow show what a change in primer can do. Both loads are 180 nosler BT hunting bullets, col 3.330, new Winchester brass, 55 gr IMR-4350. The 2 inch plus group is with WLR primers, same day I had my primer issue, 2nd shot is under the ruler. Sub inch group is with Fed 210 primers shot yesterday.

For the 338 if you have room in the mag box I would seat the bullet out .010 at a time until the group shrinks or you run out of mag box room. An equilateral triangle indicates a longer COL is needed. You could also try a different primer. Just my .02

Would you be happy with the 7mmRM speeds and the 150 CTBT? I would like to try the 150 AccuBond someday just to see if it will shoot the same.

I'm figuring that's a typo also....... ;)

:lol: when you mentioned your action screws being a little off, I thought to myself no wonder..... I was going to ask how the bolt lift was too....... :shock: :grin:

We have been home one week and all I can think about is the mountains and clean air. I don't know how I will be able to work tomorrow morning. All I know is that vacation depression has set in at our house.
