Found a used Teddy Roosevelt book Hunting Trips of a Ranchman and thought you guys would enjoy a few pages about his rifles. He liked his 45-75 Winchester lever rifle the most!

He was a worse gun nut than some that hand out here! The "little ranch gun" sounds nice, however.

Great pages Brian. Thanks for posting them. I love reading about TR. A really neat feller and one of the last true American presidents who sought adventure and didn't shirk from his duties. Seems pretty tough to find that kinda man to run the country nowadays.

Oh, plus he was from NY, so that takes him to a whole nother level! I think he was the last great governor my home state has had! Scotty

At least one or two of TR's hunting rifles are on display at the firearms museum in Cody Wyoming. I seem to recall seeing his .405 Win lever action rifle there.

That was good, thanks for posting those words of TR.
If TR were with us today, I think he would have been a regular here.

Thanks for posting that Brian! Appreciate it man!

Thanks for posting the glimpse of the real West and the men who lived there. I've read the book and longed to have lived in those days.
The FREEDOM!!!

Glad you guys liked those few pages. Not that far into the book yet but it is a great read. Should have more time to read since we are on strike with Verizon.

Ah, you'll be back to work shortly Sarge! Good time to get caught up on your reading and shooting. Scotty

I have more than enough time to read two books and reload alot of rounds  We should be back to work soon since we now have the company's undivided attention!!!

I have alot of 150s for the 308 and 300s for the 45-70. Almost forgot about all the 200ABs I found hidden in the man cave for the 300RUM.

Woody,

Some day when we cross paths and swap lies, remind me to show you pix of the Elkhorn. That is one of the many great, yet relatively unknown historical attractions in the great state of ND. I like to think I have walked the same path as TR along the Little Missouri and it sure does not take much imagination to to picture him..
