Son in Law has started chemo again. He did ok on his first set of infusions and will not go back to Portland for a couple weeks. The kids insisted Catherine and I take off for a bit. So we did. I haven’t spent twenty hours behind the wheel since I retired from “law enforcement. I’m not doing it again! We made it last evening and woke up to a beautiful sunrise over the Rincon mountains.
Cold and little snow in NE Oregon, a lot of you are getting hammered by the monster winter storm. It’ll be 71 in Tucson today. Praying for you all every day.

We continue to be thankful for all your support. We’ve just received word he has a strong chance at getting into a clinical trial that is showing some great promise. The kids will travel to Bethesda for a couple of days of follow up testing and again in March for a couple more tests. The clinical wont start until late summer following the chemo battery which lasts until July. When they return in late summer he will spend two weeks in hospital there followed by two weeks of daily visits. They will return home after that. Further tests will occur but much of that can done locally. The folks in Bethesda don’t seem to comprehend that Portland or Boise is two mountain passes and up to 4 1/2 hours away. We remain thankful for this opportunity as well.

There are some great ranges and of course there is the desert, lot of wide open spaces. Our plan on retiring was to spend several months down here but the last two years it just hasn’t worked out. I brought a shotgun for quail and trap and a 1911. I’ve also learned that Arizona Trust land can be sold to help fund schools. I get funding schools and find it hard to believe there is not enough growth to fund the Arizona schools. Found a near by quail area, state land last year, under construction this year. Bad luck for the dogs and I.

I spent several days in Mesa, late October. Visited Bruno’s and a shooting pal.
I enjoy the clean dry air, it does wonders for my breathing.
Prayers up for your family, safe travels.
