Today it's called "Saddle Rock" - the native people call it "Two Bears Fighting." It is above my home. It's a short but tough hike. I've stood between those rocks many times over the last 30 years. I'll stand there again.
It's supposed to be two bears, a black bear and a grizzly, fighting. In the story they were sisters and argued constantly. For peace and quiet Coyote turned them to stone. And there they are. Maybe you can see the bears? I can. Our local native people are still here, and I learned of Two Bears from them.
I like living under Two Bears. When I'm gone, someone else will live in this home under Two Bears. I think that is good.
