Thanks guy, yep, when I shoot my magnums off the bench especially my 340 Wby (with no break) I am reminded of the "free recoil" I get and didn't even ask for it, that 340Wby just gives it to you FREE!!! :mrgreen:

Guy, I shot a 458Win mag when I was young (first time shooting one) using a 500gr bullet and I was at a bench and leaned into the scope to see better. Well, I didn't see better for a while as I was trying to clear the blood out of my eyes from the cut on my forehead that was right between my eyes. Man was I ever in embarrassed as the range officer was wiping my face with a damp towel and putting pressure on my cut, while telling me, "you can't lean into a scope on a gun like that, sit up straighter." Was a while before I showed up at the range again, I let that cut completely heal so no one would ask me what happened. But every time I came, that range officers would just grin and every once in a while would ask, "well, where is the 458?" :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I think you get more than your fillings replaced every week :mrgreen: but I still love and see that picture of that almost blown into antelope from that 416 bee, man do I ever love the 416wby.

Mike thats why I shoot a 270Win and the 35Whelen for my long range guns. And not a 7mm/300/338 Magnum. And Hornady has shed more as of late on the jet effect of large amounts burning gases exiting the muzzle and it contribute to recoil, with their new blended to each cartridge powders used in their Superformance Ammo. And why I like the very effecticent 358Win for most of my hunting.

It took me 40 years of shooting to catch the small bore bug. Besides affordablility I can shoot my 221 or 223rem all day long with out ill effects.

HO great writes too. Did you do one on the 221rem? I seen one article but it my have been by a Mike Perice if not you.

Yes I love the 358Win and also the 7mm-08 Rem. I did not do that article.
