I could wish that I had more confidence in the present administration. Their negotiations with the UN for the Arms Trade Treaty is worrisome. The bland assurances offered by the Secretary of State and administration spokespeople does little to allay concerns. I am pleased that 130 Republican legislators have spoken out. I can only hope that if (when) the Obama administration endeavours to ratify this scam that the senate is filled with patriots.

DrMike, one of my US Senators has assured me that the support will not be there for ratification. I sure hope she is right. Otherwise we will have to choose between full-scale revolt and backing down forever.

They will have a hell of a time getting guns from me and a large portion of this nation. I hope there are enough legislators with balls to stop this wanna be dictator we have in office so we don't have to see what the American people are capable of when they try to take our weapons.

More back door tyranny by BO, and HC. Regardless of how the negotiation's turn out,,,,Reid best not even bring this to the table for a vote!!!
I can't count on my two Senator's to vote against it.

The tragedy, Dave, is that there are a number of Senators that will vote for such legislation, selling the nation out for ideological convenience.

I know that my Senators, Patty Murray and Maria Can't-do-well will not vote against it. All they care about is free contraception and unlimited access to abortions. How did we ever let the minority position voters in this country get us in this fix?

Our elected officials bought their votes with the tax moneys of the hard working citizenry.

If the average city dweller wasn't always afraid for there lives and they could look past the media painting guns as the anti-christ to see that it's the loss of rights they might actually do something about those that would vote for it. Some people are just too dumb to see that the gradual chipping away at their right will eventually lead to no rights. Most just see it as....it doesn't affect me personally so I don't care or less guns would mean less violence. I bet a lot of the people in places like the UK, Australia, and even Canada could have a do over on that one. Every time they take guns away from private citizens the guns violence escalates yet the general public is too dumb to realize that. Why rely on a cop that would take too long to get there when you can defend yourself (no offense Guy or any others that are cops).

The RCMP whom I know recognise that it is impossible to prevent crime, especially when the distances entailed are so great. They are charged to investigate and solve crime after it has happened. As the old saying goes, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. Despite liberal hype, multiple studies demonstrate that the jurisdictions that have permitted concealed carry witness significant drops in violent crime.

Switzerland is a prime example of how well legal gun ownership can work to reduce gun violence yet the rest of the world turns a blind eye.

When my wife was attacked, throttled and attempted to be raped in Long Island, New York, I wacked this wacko in the head with the barrel and shoved a 7mm Rem Mag with 160 Partitions, barrel into this cretin's mouth and made him suck and tell me how it felt! This lasted over 20 minutes while rape and murder boy sucked my gun barrel and I waited for the police!

Had I not had a gun, I would not be writing this now! The cretin told me that he was going to kill me, just for the hell of it! That kinda says it all!

We need a mandatory Militia which at one time was a requirement through an early Amendment to the Constitution and oneone ever enacted or enforced it. Mainly because of the namby pamby bunch of do nothing presidents that we had from the time of US Grant to the election of Teddy Roosevelt.

So, after the Civil War they revoked the National Militia Amendment and here we are 150 years later with a dope-fiend, Socialist, Muslim Freak as our President. He and Madame Borgia-Clinton are going to sign this third World Treaty for the UN on July 17th which will effectively ban all private ownership of firearms in the United States of America and everyone that I know is sitting on their hands doing nothing! Boy will we be helpless then!

I recently read that 10%+ of the Federal Employees in this country are Law Enforcement agents of some type, either for Secret Service, FBI or Homeland Security. This high number of Policemen effectively in this country is now at the level of Nazi Germany's Shutzenstauffel (SS) at the start of the Second World War.

This is getting way past being scary for me. I can not speak for others but I am getting very worried about the future of this country and wonder what it will take for Americans to turn off the mind-pablum (TeeVee) and wake up!

OT3, I'm with you. Frankly, I think we're screwed. Dancing with thr Start or the Cruise Holmes divorce is mor eimportanto to the average American these days that whether they wish to remain free. I think it was Karl Marx that said, "Religion is the opiate of the masses." Nope, it's the damned boob tube. The only think I give Adolph Hitler a good mark on was his comment, "What good fortune for government that the people do not think." Those last three words say it all.
The saving grace may just be the Second Amendment if WE THE PEOPE decide to remove out heads from our rectal orifices, (present company excluded as we know better.) hold I won't hold my breath. The following is something I once posted on a particular site in reference to someone else's post. I saved it and have posted it multiple times on other sites when this subject comes up. it's about the Second Amendment.

OK, lets discuss the 2nd Amendment. Good idea. It is my carefully considered opinion that the KEY WORD is MILITIA.

1. The Militia Act of 1792. One year after the Second Amendment was added to the Constitution, Congress passed a law defining the militia. The Militia Act of 1792 declared that all free male citizens between the ages of 18 and 44 were to be members of the militia. Furthermore, every citizen was to be armed. The act stated:
"Every citizen...[shall] provide himself with a good musket, a sufficient bayonet and belt, two spare flints...."

The Militia Act of 1792 made no provision for any type of select militia such as the National Guard.

U.S. Senate Subcommittee Report (1982) "In the Militia Act of 1792, the second Congress defined 'militia of the United States' to include almost every free adult male in the United States. These persons were obligated BY LAW (emphasis mine) to possess a [military style] firearm and a minimum supply of ammunition and military equipmemnt....There can be little doubt from this that when the Congress and the people spoke of the a 'militia,' they had reference to the traditional concept of the entire populace capable of bearing arms, and not to any formal group such as what is today called the national Guard."

Current Federal Law: 10 U.S.C. Sec. 311. "The militia of the Untied States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and...under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States.....

Supreme Court: U.S. v. Miller 1939 In this case, the Court stated that, "The Militia comprised of all males physically capable of acting in concert for the common defense...[and that] when called for service, these men were expected to appear bearing arms supplied by themselves AND OF THE KIND IN COMMON USE AT THE TIME. (emphasis mine)
(BTW, Miller lost in court because he did not show up. It was never taken into account that his no show was because he had passed away.)

Sec. 311. Militia: composition and classes

(a)The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 302, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b) The classes of the militia are -

(1) the organized militia which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia;
and

(2) The unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or of the Naval Militia.

Now it took me all of about ten minutes to find all that information. Just go to the Gun Owners of America's website and look for their firearms fact sheet. There's 24 pages of good information there.

I plan on making copies of the above and sending each of my representatives their own personal copy. Feel free to do the same. Maybe, if they get flooded with as many letters with the above as Zumbo's sponsers did on his major foot in mouth problem, the idiots just might get a message. Leave our guns alone.

Iran recently has placed over 40,000 terrorist operatives who have been trained by Al Queda or the Iran Secret Police. These operatives have been placed into the receptive countries of South and Central America, particularly Venezuela. These operatives have also been trained specifically to creat terror by targeting and murdering women and children in their host countries. This targeting is done because women are their largest group of torture and death victims in the Moslem countries of Asia Minor. Apparently Iran's government and secret police kill 5 times as many women as the do men in their terrorist cells and prisons at home.
