I finally got to the Range to test some loads for the 35 Whelen. I was really pleased with my results.

Remington 700 Classic w/ 22" barrel

Ambient Temp. 81.5-degrees

Remington 1x fired cases
Nosler 225 AccuBond
Reloader 15 Powder
CCI 200 Primer

I loaded 57.0, 58.0, 59.0 and 59.5 Grains of Powder, The 59.5 load produced a 1/2" 2-shot group starting with a cold barrel with a following second shot. No pressure signs very good extraction after each shot. The range was really busy during my visit, will have to chronograph the load later. I'm speculating it could be in the 2650 fps range but really don't care 2600 fps would be good for me. This should bring the hammer down on any Whitetail Deer this Fall.

Anything over 2600 for a 225 and you're golden.

Since I just got that 35 Whelen Rem Classic and it was unfired decided was time to break in the barrel and work up some loads. I got the barrel broke in using IMR-4064 and 225gr Accubonds then I switched over to R-15 and got afew loads chronographed.
55gr/R-15 with 225gr AB @ 2435fps
56gr/R-15 @ 2489fps
57gr/R-15 @ 2520fps
58gr/R-15 @ 2566fps

I ran out of time and didn't get any other loads tested.

Steve, I got out to the range afews days later and I did shoot 59gr/R-17 then 59.5gr and 60gr and didn't have any pressure signs and I didn't get to chrono those loads but I think 59gr would be 2610fps maybe to 2620fps. My rifle is pretty long throated I'm seating the bullet 3.490"and I get 3/4" 3 shot groups with it at 100yds. I'm not hunt with it this year but good luck on your hunt.

I would bet your deep into 2600 and probably into 2700 with 59.5gr of RL15 and the 225gr AccuBond. My TSX load is 60gr of RL15 and I am deep into the 2700FPS range with it. Either way, that will be an awesome round for the Whelen. I wouldn't mind trying them, they would probably be super for elk and such when having to stretch the Whelen a little. Scotty

Yeah I'm excited to see actual velocity, should be going to the Range this week-end. Will post results later.
Thanks to everyone that replied, love the input!

Hey this 35 Whelen is pretty cool,

I was at the range this past Saturday and chronographed the 225 AccuBond with 59.5 of RL15.

3-Shot average was 2677 FPS. Shot 2-side by side touching 1-1/2" High and 1" right of the Bullseye. Corrected left 1" and hit dead on but 1-1/2" High.
This should be close to a 200 yard zero with this load so I'm letting it there. Couldn't be more happy. Ready for Deer Season now.

That's a great shooting load. That will hammer about anything you will ever point it at! RL15 is one awesome powder for the Whelen. Scotty

I made the switch to RL 15 for my 35 Whelen. Great powder and works very well with the 225 gr AB. Impressive velocity and accuracy from my M700 Classic.

DrMike,
I didn't shoot the classic 3-shot grouping due to time constraints on my part, the measured 2-shots that were side by side touching, measured 3/8" center to center.
