While looking for spare shoelaces one evening in Oregon, I happened upon a group of bullets that I thought I had lost. These are, .308, 180 gr. Nosler Partition bullets, that were salvaged from animals that were taken by my dad and me. Nosler users don't collect many bullets as this collection represents the majority that were found over a 30 or 40 year period. A lot of game was taken to collect these.

I have killed exactly two elk with the, .284, 160 gr. TSX bullet. Here is a bullet from one of them.

Nice collection Bill, the 180 gr PT's did well. All opened up nice and wide.

Partitions just flat out work, period. They are the common point of reference for every premium ever intoduced.

BTW Here are a coupe of TSX's.

Some work some do not. You judge. No criticism guys ............. just reporting!

The TTSX is a big improvement over the TSX in my opinion, I won't load the TSX anymore but will use the TTSX. That said of the 6 animals I took with the TSX there were no problems.

Fotis, those are great examples. How many animals do those represent, and why do "you" think there is such a difference in performance? Velocity?

From what I understand it is the tiny hollow point that can cause problems, especially if the tip of the bullet gets damaged somehow with recoil. The TTSX however has a huge hollow point under that blue tip........

Fascinating collection, Bill. And Fotis' collection of TSXs is equally fascinating.

Elkman - I sure like the look of those "used" Partitions!

I think a lot of hunters still don't really understand the Partition and why it's so effective. People want the looks of a classic mushroom when they recover a bullet. Often the Partition looks pretty mangled up front. It's supposed to!

Good bullets, and have been for decades.

Thanks for posting that photo. Hmm. Find anything else interesting while looking for boot laces?

Oh man, that hunting camper has just about a little bit of everything in there...

The Nosler Partition and Swift A-Frame are perhaps the only two bullet designs in existence that can and will preform so consistently for penetration and expansion on big game like elk. Those Partitions look as much alike as any bullets ever could be shot at game, be recovered and appear as uniform as these bullets do. That is an amazing photograph, Bill.

Didn't find any noteworthy items then, but, I am still looking for my 40 year old map of the Umatilla NF. Yesterday while preparing for my next trip, I did find a red water bottle, a red checkered pillow, some fresh trail mix and a couple of other minor items that I do not recognize as something I own.
I lost my favorite field hat while shooting the elk (breeze was significant) and have replaced it. I know there is some spray for waterproofing heavy cotton in the Camper but I not found it as yet. It may be in the shower under my rain gear.

Thanks Charlie, I am sure a couple of those came from my 06. The rest came from either my 300 WM or my dads 300 B. Its nice to see consistent performance like that, at varying distances and velocities. I was happy to find them as I had looked in my reloading stuff a couple of times for them. Hopefully I can add another one or two, to the pile in the coming years. It is really hard tho, as Noslers seem to float right through, it takes a lot to stop one in an animal.

The Partition has always been top shelf in my books. I never thought I would change as I used them for almost 40 years. But after the performance I have received with the ABs I can not let them go!!

Blessings,
Dan
