Fellows,
I'm wondering if anyone is using Varget in .22-250 with Nosler 50 to 55 Varmagdedon bullets?
The rifle is a Ruger No.1V. Flat base bullets seem to shoot better for me at 100 yard range.

Also, in .243 shooting Hornady 65 grain VMax bullets for Coyotes, and 90 or 95 grain Nosler Ballistic tips for WT Deer?
This rifle is a Ruger No.1a. Both rifles have had trigger work, are bedded and free floated.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Merry Christmas

Yes I’m shooting varget and 55 grain varmagedons out of a Ruger #1. I’ve had that rifle for about 40 years I think and it’s the best load I’ve ever had In that rifle. Don’t recall the load off the top of my head but it was right out of the book.
Merry Christmas to you

I had a M700 VLS in 22-250. It shot sub 1/4 MOA with Varget and 50 gr bullets. Best group was .18.

In the 243 Win, I had excellent accuracy with IMR4895 and 70 gr bullets, IMR4350 and 100 gr bullets.

looking at quickload , varget looks like a good powder to try in the 22.250 with the 50/55 grain bullets , and in the 243 with the 65 gr bullets . it's a little fast for the 243 with the 90 /95 gr bullets . it will work with the 90 /95 gr bullets but , I think , there would be better choices .

For 55 grain bullets we had one rifle that liked 34, the other 35 grains of varget. We predominantly used SGK‘s and NBT’s. Didn’t seem to make a difference either way.

Thank you all for your replies.
I use all the information I can get ------especially when you're talking about Ruger No.1 rifles!!

I’ve installed Hicks accurizers in five of my #1s. I was surprised it worked in the heavy bbl. 22.250 You might try it if plan on keeping the rifle. It made a difference, 1 inch rifle to 1/2 inch.
