VLD Bullets for Hunting

My accuracy side says ..........

This is awesome! great results!!!!!!!!!!!

My hunting side says. OK now what?

Nice shooting though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have used the Match bullets in my 7mmSTW and a 30-06 for hunting and have killed game but also in having experience in doing so tells me I do not want to use them on anything outside of deer or coyote. I will stick to Partition, AccuBond, and TSX. I have been up close on big stuff and no way will I use a Sierra match king or Berger VLD in those situations.

Are you going to try the 338 cal 250 gr AB in your 338 Lapua Improved?

JD, what's the listed BC for the 250 AccuBond? Are they really making 300 grain?

Thanks,
DF

I think, it all goes down to the ergonomics of the A-4. It feels good in the bench. Actually, I believed it's better than A-5, at least for me. I'm contemplating on replacing the HS Precision on my 308 with another A-4, if I can find a good deal somewhere. :)

The 338 cal 250 gr AB will have a BC of .575. One of the best BC'c out there
for a predictable controlled expansion big game bullet.
