Sadly, my youngest son will probably only be able to hunt mule deer one day this season. That was yesterday, with me, and we didn't see a legal buck. Phooey. But, it was still a great day! We hiked for several hours, quietly, watching animals. Enjoyed a terrific lunch, and just enjoyed the father-son time. I hope we can do better on pheasants later this year. He was carrying his .30-06, 1917, topped by a 6x Leupold and sighted in with 165 gr Nosler Partitions. Some photos from yesterday:

Apparently there's a lot more to hunting success than tagging an animal. We thoroughly enjoyed our hunt!

Great photo's as usual Guy. Congratulations on an awesome day. Looks like that Jeep of yours is earning it's keep this year.

Guy,

That was a successful hunt in my book. Spending quality time with your son is priceless.
I'm looking forward to hunting with my Daughter again this year and spending time in the deer blind.
