According to Weatherby's 2018 Catalog, the 257 Wby, 7MM Rem, 300 Win/Wby Vanguards will come from the factory with a 26 inch barrel. This has been a long time coming. Just curious how it will affect the Mark V sales. Either way, imo, this is a great move by Weatherby.

As an aside, the 6.5x300 Wby Mag will be chambered in the Vanguard for 2018.

Will the 6.5x300 also then have a 26 in barrel?
That one sure begs for it more than the 7mm Rem or 300 Win.

Despite my love for the 25-06, a spiffy .257 Weatherby would be even better.... :) Particularly with the 26" barrel.

affirmative sir!

Aw crud.
26" Vanguard in 257 and 6.5-300?
That's going to cost me money.

Wow, just in time. Been thinkin of a 25cal for awhile. I think a Accuguard in 257 would do nicely

This is really making me want to get the wallet out! Would really be interested in either the 257 or 6.5-300.

I'd wager not all that much. Since MkVs are something like 2.5x the cost of a Vanguard, the deciding factors are more than a couple inches of barrel for most people.

I did look at Weatherby's 2018 catalog online- I've only had a few Weatherby rifles over the years. I probably ought to fix that. That Outfitter in .300WBY would certainly be useful up here.
