...well, let's give this one more try...

And the fight continues. How about a few more Canadian wolves, Gene? We could send some to Ted Turner to keep as pets!

Yeah, I don't want to be the guy who goes to jail for illegally shooting one... But:

1. I hope this issue gets sorted out. Soon.

2. I'd sure like to hang a wolf pelt, a LEGAL wolf pelt, on the wall...

Regards, Guy

I guess if Ted Turner could keep Jane Fonda as a pet, a wolf would be no problem?

Good point Charlie.
MI, WI and MN wolves have been put back on the endangered list by a liberal DC Federal judge.

It's crap. Wait till they start hammering Oregon. Saw some mighty big tracks there this year. I bet they arent eating berries!

It does not bode well for scientific based game management. :(

Them woofs are going to menace Eastern Oregon. Hope people are ready for it.

I have no problem with wolves as long as they introduce them in DC on a few fenced in properties...

I like that! Great idea. Reckon the President would be open to such an ecologically sound idea?

I would hope so. Just trying to figure out how we will convince them to walk around wearing bacon "air freshners".

wildgene

this is, as I am sure you know, someone or a group of someone"s "agenda". It has nothing to do with an animal being endangered or nearly extinct. We have over 50000 of them in Canada and they are listed as a big game animal and can be hunted, they are not on the verge of extinction.

We experience the same thing with the Polar Bear and the Muskox ( as well as the whale ) They play the number's game, and even thou we have proven to them that the number of Polar Bears in Canada have increased in the last 10 years by as much as 4000 animals, they continue to play with "approx" numbers and try to imply the numbers have decreased because of global warming. Same with the Muskox in the NW Territories, they play a number game, trying to imply that they are endangered and they are not.

As I have mentioned before I enjoy seeing and hearing the wolf in the wild and they are part of our heritage, BUT, we still hunt them and do everything in our power to keep them away from the young Caribou and Moose.

I truly understand your frustration, and hope you find some politician or politicians that will protect your rights, as a hunter and/or rancher, as a pack of wolves can hurt both wild life herds and livestock herds

I have been asked since I made this post earlier today if I still had my two pet wolves--yes. One of the problems with raising any wild animal in a domesticated way is they lose some of their natural instincts and we are afraid they would die or be killed by someone or other wolves fairly quickly. They are really no problem as they get along with our sled dogs and our Boykin. We have even taught them to pull a sled as a two dog ( wolf ) sled team, but do not use them with the other sled dogs. I hope this answers your question, but I do not want to get away from the point of Wildgene's thread because it is an important thread and point and one that must be fought!

Cheyenne, I always enjoy your input in to these topics.
You bring a perspective that few can match. Thank you for that for it enriches us all.

The problem in this country is that Liberals will look you straight in the eye with a big salty tear, and lie until their stinking tongue falls out! When they become Game Biologists, we are in trouble.
