The commercial FN, Sako or BRNO actions absolutely are good actions. I have a Mauser custom rifle built on a Mark X action and one built on an FN action. They are very accurate and capable rifles. I also have a custom, super Grade, Pre 64 (1949), Model 70 actioned rifle. I have all three set up the same way and it is hard even for me, to tell the difference in quality or handling. Two of these rifles are partially glass bedded. One stock (the Model 70) is not. I also have a Sako Model 85 rifle in .338 Federal.
Many people buy cheaper mauser actions and are disappointed in the results. Both my FN and the Mark X are nearly interchangeable, from stock to stock, except for one having a three position, Model 70 bolt shroud. All three of these rifle are very smooth feeding and bolt operation. ll three rifles are very accurate. have all three set at about 2 pounds trigger pull and no creep.
