If you had the choice of what caliber the E-Tip should be offered in next, what would it be. Feel free to add a comment with weights and reasons why you would choose it. If you don't see a caliber you would vote for, let us know that too and tell us what you would prefer. Like I said before, I'll make sure the right people see this and that your voice will be heard.

I voted for the 270cal E-Tip, but I can tell you that in my heart, I believe what this world needs is more 8mm! What about something in a 180-190gr range in 8mm? Should be able to achieve about 2700-2800fps muzzle velocity from my 24" barreled 8x57 Rem700, so impact velocities would have to go down to something like 1600fps to make it a really useful long range bullet. Right now, the 180BT and the 200AB/PT are the best out there, in my opinion, but the 200's are a little slow at distance. The BC on a 185gr E-Tip should be pretty darn high, if the nose profile is right, based on the length-for-caliber issue with solids. This would give the best of both worlds - enough weight for elk, and enough velocity for distance. Sounds like a dream come true. Think of how the 325WSM crowd will like them, too.

JusMo,

You should also include the 338 cal.

I'm listening to your requests already.

The 260 in 110or 115 to keep lenth down . And is the 260 turn left out to the end on the Accubonds then 130s not in whitetail country we need fast and flat.

I have no "inside info" on this.

I am willing to bet anything it will be a 7mm of some sort!!!!!!

I personally need/want:

6mm 95gr

270 130-140 either will do

7mm 150-160

416--325

My E-Tip wish list:

.204
.243/6mm
.277

These will keep me hunting when (not if) CA goes lead free. :x

i voted for the 358, this diameter has great cases available but very few high quality bullets to put in them.

Hi There,
I would really like to see it in the .257... My 257 wby mag is a fast flat shooter, but most bullets one retain around 72 gr. I am not knowledgable enough to know the problems with accuracy for a bullet like this one for the lighter calibers, but a 115gr in .257 would be really sweet for whitetails, blacktails, and ok for coyotes etc...
thanks,
Hardpan

Heck I'am still waiting on some lighter wieghts in your other bullets like some 150gr .323/8mm ,and a good BT/AB Muzzleloading Bullet,to worry to much on what you all do with E-tip.

However heres what would get my attention.

.257-110-120gr
.277-140gr
.284-140gr
.308-150gr
.323/8mm 150-180gr.

Is there a difference between the .277 and the .270. Are thought they were the same.

That's my fault for listing it twice, you're right. We'll just have to add the two together.

It was your subconcious telling you the 270 (130 grain please) is twice as urgent to bring to market.

The 130 grain is an excellent choice in this caliber as traditional bullets are able to fully take advantage of the flat trajectory. In a lead-free bullet the OAL will already be close to that of a 140, so let's not add to that.

The 130 tsx is effective and penetrates very well in this caliber. A more reliable bullet, with nosler accuracy to boot, will take any game up to moose easily and repeatedly.

Btw, thanks for getting the 130 Accubonds out, they are fantastic. 8)

7mm in 140-150 grain range. Perfect for the 7x57, 7-08, 280 Rem, 284 Win, new SAAMI 280AI, 7SAUM, 7WSM, 7 Rem Mag, 7 STW. Need we go on? The 7mm caliber is really starting to gain popularity with more and more reloaders and hunters. If you want something that will retain a little more weight than an AccuBond or Partition, but also has a high BC for greater downrange energy/velocity, then this sounds like the bullet of choice. I use 140 gr Accubonds right now in my 7-08 and 7WSM, and they are great on deer here in mid-MO, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them on elk. But if I go on that once every 3-5 year elk hunting trip, I'll probably go with these if they come in 140-150 gr. Anything longer than a bullet of that weight could start impacting case capacity. There's lots of folks out there that like the short action 7's, and they would still work great in the long actions, too.
