What is it?

That coating that Remington is covering their 700 stainless rifle barrels with, sort of a gray-ish metal. It's ugly! Can it be removed by polishing compounds to get to the true color of the SS barrel? Or, is that the color AFTER they sand-blasted the barrel?

Jeeez, so many questions .

Are you talking about the first gen XCR? Because none of my SPS or BDL or ADL SS rifles have the coating.
