What is the one round that makes you smile every time you reload for it and shoot it? For me it is the 6.5 Grendel. I have a few reasons. #1 it is accurate #2 I built the rifle #3 I am the only one that I know of in the area that has one #4 it is a cool looking round.

So what round to you really enjoy? (you can only pick one)

Mine is probably my 338 Win Mag. Pretty powerful, accurate, and resembles my favorite gift I have ever received from my wife, besides my children.

For me, its my 300 RUM. Its like a bad date I can't get enough of

Me and my gun have a love hate relationship. My wife's 300RUM, purrs like a kitten and never gives us any gruff....go figure

The one I'm working on at the present. Actually, three rounds pop to the top--.356 Winchester, .280 Remington and 9.3 Brenneke.

I guess my number one is the 270win as it gets so much bad press yet in my opinion it does everything you could ask for in a mid-size center fire, it is fast accurate and has a light recoil.
Most surprising is the 35 Whelen as it is surprisingly fast for a non magnum thumper . The jury is out on my 280AI which I hope will be with me soon :). From all reports it should become my favorite right fast .

Blessings,
Dan

Terrible question that's like askin a father to pick his favorite child. :) 300 rum. Accurate deadly and it looks like it could ward off armageddon. But 270 win and 30-06 always have a place on my shelf.

I can't do it... Can't go to one.

.308 Win, even when I'm loading in batches of 500... Still love that cartridge, after four barrels. Or is it five now?

.25-06 Rem, wow... This thing has put a lot of venison in the freezer in recent years and ruined a few coyote hides... Thoroughly enjoy loading and shooting it! Haven't found an inaccurate load yet.

.30-06... Been loading it since I was a kid. Lots of memories with the good old .30-06, at the bench and in the field.

.375 H&H - I LIKE loading 300 grain bullets. It's fun. Shooting them is even more fun. Yup, it's one of my favorite cartridges.

On the "do not like to load" list: .204 & .223. They're too doggone tiny! I dislike the itty bitty bullets, itty bitty cases, itty bitty primers, etc...

Amen! Hate them tiny cases and primers. On the other hand a 22-250 is a lot of fun! Shoots great loads easy and does a fine job in the field.

Ok its not reloading .... but my 22mag is still hands down the most fun to shoot. Otherwise, 75 Gr vmax's out of my 250-3000. As good a group as I can shoot on any given day, every time. CL

Can't pick just one for me it is the 260 Rem and 35 Whelen, the 260 is accurate, cheap to shoot and hardly kicks, the 35 Whelen is no slouch when it comes to accuracy and just plain cool.

Would have to be my 7mm-300weatherby. Killed my biggest whitetail with it and all but two of my elk with it. And what's not to like about a 160gr AccuBond flying at 3400fps?!

For me it is two also: the .257 Roberts and the 9.3x74R. The Roberts is extremely accurate, fun to shoot. I enjoy the punch and power of the 9.3x74R.

I hate to have to single just one out of the herd but it would be my custom Mauser in .35 Whelen. But you guys already knew that, right?
There are a few thatare tied for a very close second place though. One 30-06 J.C. Higgins M50 given to me by a late friend in the mid 1970's. Another 30-06 custom o a comercial FN mauser built by the Late Cal Albrite that has never been blooded. (A very long story behind that gun.) A Winchester M70 XTR with an apparent McMillan stock in .270 that I bought on impulse and it turned out to be one of the most accurate from the box strictly stock rifles I've ever owned. First group I shot using 150 gr. Winchester Power Point factory ammo was .50". Must have been a fluke right? Five shots in half an inch. let the rifle cool down real good and shot another five shot group. The whole of the story is the largest group I shot that day as .80". I bought the gun more because it was cheap enough that if I did not like it I could easily sell it for a profit. Well, it's a keeper and I used it to take my first antelope back in 2009.
Sometimes I get really stressed out and when that happens I load for my theraputic rifle. I keep a supply of home cast 175 gr. bullets (Lyman #311291) on hand and break out my Lyman 310 Tong Tool and load up a couple of boxes of 30-30 ammo for my 1894 Winchester to burn up at the range. The rifle (carbine) was made in 1911 and belonged to my Great grandfather. I killed my first deer with it at age 11 (1949) in Lake Cpounty California. It too is a keeper.
