ok my friends father in law said he had some .223 hollow points he would give me. No problem,BUT something is bad wrong here the case is a rem. .223 BUT the bullet is .170 in diameter. Here it is and in a pic next to one of my varmageddon's i loaded any ideas where this weirdo came from?View attachment bullets 003.JPGView attachment bullets 002.JPG

any ideas on why it would have been done, or what it would go in would be appreciated. they have been reloaded they have CCI primers in them. he offered these before i got my reloading stuff and i just noticed them in a box lol

its a 17 predator or the 17 POS (predator on steroids) just another 17 wildcat that has become semi-popular with fur hunters.

after taking a second look, the shoulder doesn't appear to be pushed far enough foreward to be a predator, more likely a 17/223, there are so many wildcats in 17 floating around today without taking actual measurements its hard to tell
the pred. is a 17/223 with the shoulder pushed foreward a tad, the POS is a 17 pred with slight body taper changes and 35-40 degree shoulder, then there is the 17/222 mag, the 17/204 to many to keep straight.
