So, I've got a 6.5x55 Howa Hogue that is a neat little rifle and with all this reboring and such going on, for some reason I don't think I can leave well enough alone. I've thought of a few different options, and others have done the same.

So I thought I'd throw it out there....what say you?

6.5-06
6.5-06AI
6.5-280AI

I think I want to keep it 6.5, but which would you choose and if there are any others you can think of.....thanks!

Personally, I would leave it as is.
Keith
If you feel you need to tamper with this fine rifle, Please send it to me for safe keeping.

No bad choices listed. I like the 6.5X55, and like Keith, I'd be inclined to keep it as it is, however.

How does it shoot now? Going to a larger capacity case on the same barrel will typically lose a bit of accuracy (while generally not a lot it can be noticeable at times). If it shoots good now then I'd go for one of the bigger versions. A 6.5 Sherman is about the max on the .270/.280 length cases and approaches .264wm velocity. There is a lot of data on it over on LRH. Although the nice thing about a 6.5-.280AI is the ability to use a .280AI bushing die for FL sizing.
