I am the new owner of a 280 Rem. Never owned one before. Have owned 7mm RM and do own 7mm08. Haven't checked for past load data on here just thought I would ask. Will be used for hunting whitetails here in WV and banging some plates at the range occasionally. So, what do you guys like to load in your 280?

58 grains viht 560 3 k all day 150 Berger classic hunter , cci br2 primer, Peterson brass , shot this Sunday morning. 26” shilen barrel 1-8 twist , suppressed.

A few loads that have worked well for me:

FC F210M NOS 140 E-TIP 55.4 grains RL17 3039 fps
FC F210M NOS 150 ABLR 60.0 grains VN560 3033 fps
(All sub-MOA)

Winchester 22" barrel--

RP R9.5 NOS 140 AB 57.5 grains H4831 2739 fps
FC F210 NOS 140 BT 59.0 WXR 2925 fps
RP R9.5 NOS 140 PT 54.0 H100V 2925 fps
RP R9.5 SWF 140 AF 55.5 H4831 2739 fps
(All sub-MOA)

Winchester 22" barrel--

FC WLR HDY 139 SST 58.0 H4831 2806 fps
(sub-MOA)

All loads were proven by taking both whitetails and mule deer at ~40 to ~250 yards.

My favorite deer load is a 140 BBC with RL26 in my old M725 280 Remington. The 140 Sierra SBT is good as well. That load is good for 3100.

In my M7600 I use the 145 LRX with H4831SC. That load is a 2975 and very accurate as well.

280’s a good one. Which rifle did you get?

Bought Gregory B's Ruger No 1. Really nice guy and a pretty rifle.

Lots of information here. Got some 139,140,150gr bullets to try on hand along with IMR & H 4831, RL19. Saw where Hornady lists Win SB6.5 in their data. Plenty to start with. Thanks.
